Acts 15:1-2

  1. Certain men came down from Judea to Antioch and taught the brethren, "You cannot be saved before you are circumcised in the manner prescribed by Moses."


  2. And when Paul (Saul) and Barnabas (Yosef Levi - Acts 4:36) had great dissension and debate with them, the brethren determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders concerning this question.


Deuteronomy 17:8-9 (Devarim 17:8-9)

  1. If a matter arises which is too hard for you to judge, between degrees of guilt for bloodshed, between one judgement or another, or between one punishment or another, matters of controversy within your gates, then you shall arise and go up to the place which the LORD your God chooses.


  2. And you shall come to the priests the Levites, and to the judge there in those days, and inquire of them; and they shall declare to you the word of judgement.
